Evan joined YSIG to explore the tech ecosystem through the lens of investing and meet other like-minded peers on campus! In his free time you can find him making jewelry at his metalsmithing studio in San Francisco, playing golf with the Yale Club Golf team, watching cinema classics with his friends, or cheering on his favorite team in Formula 1, the NBA, and the NFL. Sanjana joined YSIG with no prior finance experience to explore something completely new after abandoning an Engineering major. Spending time in the Small Cap & Special Situations and Industrials groups, Sanjana fell in love with investing and the incredible YSIG family - greatly reshaping both her career path and Yale experience. Outside of YSIG, Sanjana is involved in organizing conferences with YIRA and loves oil painting, sampling good food, and curating ultra-specific playlists. Julia Blum

Julia joined YSIG to explore the reasoning behind investments after being involved in fundraising and wanting to learn how to sustainably raise capital. Everything Julia knows about investments has been taught to her by her generous and extraordinary mentors/peers in YSIG. Since joining YSIG, Julia has fallen in love with financial analysis and trying to predict a company’s future. Outside of YSIG, Julia loves to cook for friends and bake Challah. Her favorite place to be is outdoors: hiking, swimming, farming, etc. Julia is excited to meet new people, including anyone curious about the things she loves (especially YSIG!). Edward joined YSIG to connect with fellow students who share his interest in financial markets and security analysis. In his free time, he enjoys walking in the countryside, watching historical films, and visiting new places. Recently, Edward has developed an interest in short-selling and financial market fraud, which he looks forward to exploring further this year. Nate Mathew

Nate joined YSIG because he loves investing and wanted to meet other people who were willing to talk about markets over dinner in the Trumbull dining hall. Prior to being Industrials Group Head, Nate was a member of the Industrials, Small Cap/Special Situations, and Macro groups. In his free time, Nate can be found in the percussion section of the YSO, selling for his custom t-shirt company, playing every hand at YSIG poker, or yelling at the Packers. William Ning

William joined YSIG to learn more about public markets investing and meet new people. He is currently the group head of Natural Resources and previously was a member on the Consumers, Small Cap, and Macro groups. Outside of YSIG, William is also a member of Yale's Fed Challenge team. In his free time, you can find William tinkering with his fantasy premier league team, cooking in the Morse Buttery, or photographing the New Haven scenery. Sophia Wang

Sophia joined YSIG to meet interesting, passionate people and try her hand at investing. Sophia currently leads the Media and Telecommunications group and was previously an analyst in Industrials and Macro. On campus, Sophia is also part of the Yale Undergraduate Consulting Group and the Yale Debate Association. She loves to talk game theory, dabble in racket sports, and test out the weekly flavors at Elena’s on Orange. I’m Ariel, a junior in Trumbull from NYC! I joined YSIG in the fall of my freshman year, and I am excited to be the group head for Small Cap & Special Situations this year. Last year, I was YSIG’s Head of Public Affairs, and a member of Small Cap and M&T. Outside of YSIG, I write for the Yale Herald, work as an econ peer tutor, and volunteer as a counselor at Camp Kesem. Jackie joined YSIG to explore if she’d enjoy investing while learning about different sectors and business models. Having worked at MatchesFashion in London during her gap year, she learned about eCommerce business models and the importance of data analytics to drive business outcomes. YSIG provided a platform to discover companies at the intersection of consumer and technology, and therefore she was a member of both Consumers and Technology teams. In addition to YSIG, Jackie is the Vice President of First Generation Investors tutoring high school students about financial literacy, holds a campus job as a Yale math tutor, and is an aspiring house music DJ.

Jacob joined YSIG because he loves investing and wanted to meet other students with an interest in finance. He loves all things industrials and especially enjoys the complex financial modeling specific to industrial businesses. Prior to Industrials Group Head, Jacob was an analyst on the Industrials, Small Cap, and Healthcare teams. Outside of YSIG, Jacob is the CFO of Simplex Sciences, a biotechnology startup on campus. Justin joined YSIG his first semester at Yale to get hands-on experience with securities analysis and learn more about investing. He started out in the Technology and Small Cap sectors, became Software Group Head, and is now an Investment Manager. When he’s not focused on investing, you can find Justin diving for loose balls in pickup basketball, obsessing over his fantasy football team, or talking about politics and foreign policy with anybody who’ll listen. Before coming to Yale, he spent his gap year skiing across the United States, working on a podcast and at a bakery, and interning for an educational technology startup.
